About Dr Cade

Dr Cade studied medicine at the University of Melbourne with subsequent clinical training and internship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He was accepted into specialist training with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) in 2008, primarily being based at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne with other placements at the Geelong Hospital, Epworth Freemasons Hospital and Northern Hospital.

 

He completed his research higher degree (doctorate) at the University of Melbourne examining modern methods of managing gestational diabetes and was awarded an Early Career Researcher Fellowship to expand upon this work. Click here to see Dr Cade discussing gestational diabetes.

 

Dr Cade is currently in full-time private practice. His rooms are located at Epworth Freemasons Suite 101, 320 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne. Obstetric bookings are taken for  Epworth Freemasons and St Vincent’s Private Hospitals. Dr Cade is also accredited at Frances Perry House and the Royal Women’s Hospital in case of emergency transfer.

 

Along with numerous ongoing research interests, Dr Cade has published locally and internationally on fertility-sparing treatments for endometrial cancer and diagnostic criteria for pre-eclampsia and is also a reviewer for a number of local and international journals. He is a Senior Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Melbourne and regularly examines medical students. He is also on the Board of Examiners for the Royal Australian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

 

Additionally, Dr Cade has completed elective surgical training in plastic surgery. Part of which, was completed with specialist plastic surgeon, Professor Mark Ashton. Ensuring Dr Cade’s obstetric and gynaecology patients achieve superior cosmetic outcomes.

 

Some of Dr Cade’s previous public appointments have included being the Head of Diabetes, Consultant Obstetrician within the Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit and Pelvic Floor Surgeon at the Royal Women’s Hospital.

 

Having completed an Associate Diploma in classical piano while at medical school, Dr Cade still plays regularly in his leisure time and more recently, also playing the organ. He represented Victoria numerous times as an open-age hurdler and now enjoys the more eclectic pursuits of powerlifting, Brazilian jiujitsu (at blue belt level) and golf. Dr Cade is married with two daughters and a son.
